OAS model Law

Name of law: Model Inter-American Law on Access to Information
First adopted: 2010

Introduction

This law scores quite highly - as might be expected given that it is a model law. Problems and ambiguities around the system of extensions and of request transfers are the chief deficiencies. One interesting aspect of this law is the ability to make anonymous requests, an intriguing feature which, unfortunately, has yet to have been adopted by any of the OAS states.
